Although misunderstood for many years, cremation is simply a hastening of the natural process. This is accomplished in a clean modern permitted facility using intense heat and flame, thus returning the body to its original elements. After the cremation process is complete, the calcified bone fragments (cremated remains) are collected and processed and placed into our Standard Cremation Package for return to the owner.

At no time throughout the cremation process are your pet's remains commingled with any other cremated remains. Through our thorough documentation and tracking procedures, you can be assured that the cremated remains you receive are that of your pet.

The options for the final resting place of your pet are then varied. The cremated remains can be scattered in a favorite resting place, garden or even by plane over a body of water or land. Additionally, optional permanent decorative cremations urns are available which are suitable for permanent display to enable the owner to cherish their companion indefinitely.

Cremations are performed at our facility in Sarasota, Florida. You may bring your pet to us directly. In most cases the cremation is performed within 24-48 hours. Same day service service may be available depending on crematory scheduling  Please contact our office for further information and pricing.

Arrangements are currently in place to provide for the transportion of your pet from your veterinarian's office. However, if you desire, we will make arrangements to come directly to your home for a nominal fee.

Home tranportation may also be provided by Vet Care Express.

Arrangements are currently in place to return your pet's cremated remains back to your veterinarian's office on our next scheduled visit for you to pickup. Due to crematory and driver scheduling, we ask that you allow up to 3-5 days for the entire process to take place. If desired, you my contact our office and to make arrangements to pick up the cremated remains directly. Please call our office in advance for an appointment.

For owners which are vacationing in our area, the cremated remains can be shipped to your home via the United States Postal Service Priority Mail with tracking.

If it is your choice to scatter the cremated remains of your pet, there are a variety of options available. Belspur Oaks Pet Crematory can arrange to have your pet's remains scattered by boat in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico, or you may select an appropriate location of your own.

If you intend to scatter the cremated remains, environmental regulations will generally permit such, provided you have the permission of the property owner. We urge you to contact your local department of environmental protection for clarification prior to scattering.
